Epic Season coming soon! Don't miss out!
Last edited on: May 21, 2014 05:37:57 PM by LangaraSuz

This 2014 sport fishing season is just 6 days away. The long winter season for many is finally coming to an end across North America and with it the start of dreams of many anglers to hook into some hard fighting Chinook Salmon. To update all our future guests on what is happening at Langara we can provide a summary of all the logistical events to date.

The barge left on tow from Vancouver on April 26th and arrived at Langara Island on May 5th with no hiccups along the way. In some years the tow can be hampered with bad weather wherein we need to seek refuge in protected harbours so this year we were happy to have a nice easy tow. For those of you that don’t know, the barges are stored in Vancouver for two reasons. Firstly the freshwater helps to keep the various marine critters from multiplying on the hulls and secondly the logistics and cost of maintaining and repairing and updating the barges is cheaper in Vancouver than in Prince Rupert.

Upon arrival there is the customary flurry of activity setting up all the barges, connecting to the many anchors that help keep everything fixed in place, connecting the docks, getting the water system up and running, connecting the power and the phone system and generally just bringing everything up to level of completeness such that the operation can run smoothly once guests arrive.

While opening day is May 27th, some staff have been going out to test the waters and we were thrilled to see a good number of Chinook already around. All the signs are pointing towards an excellent overall year…some may even say epic.

Last but not least, the beauty of the surrounding area awaits all our guests once again this year. From the fantastic wave swept rocky shorelines to the breaching humpback whales, there is so much to see out here that once you take your first sweet breath of ocean air you will know you are back home where all the fish are.

Call and reserve you spots before they are all gone!

"What a great trip"

This was a fantastic trip. The fishing was absolutely incredible, we went home with our limit of salmon, halibut, and rockfish. After a hard day of fishing the staff were very welcoming and the food was what you would see in a high end restaurant. I will defiantly be back sometime in the near future!

"Fisherman's Dream Come True "Langara Fishing Lodge""

Being used to roughing it on fishing trips, Langara was the total luxury 1st class experience for me. Everything from the accommodation, food (the pig roast was brilliant), boats and gear were all top notch. All the staff were excellent particularly our guide Matt who got us into some fantastic world class fishing fun. This is the place memories are made from and I'm glad I didn't pass up this opportunity with my buddy and his sons.

"Amazing is a New Normal re the Langara Fishing Lodge Experience"
Review Created On: Jun 13, 2016
Overall Rating:
Details:
I just returned from my seventh experience with the Egan/Husky fishing adventure. High seas and another amazing and unique experience is what I have learned to expect as a normal for this adventure. Anchored by wonderful customer service, Bill and Suze run a fine operation in this remote and wild environment unique in Canada. The scenery makes this vacation experience truly remarkable. It changes every trip and I am looking forward to my next opportunity to return to the Langara Fishing Lodge
