"Good Guide"

Any number of things can be sketchy when you hire guides. Rest assured when you hire Alfredo you are getting a very good guide. He works hard, speaks English and knows the area very well. Delightful man. Didn't have a great day but did have a pretty good one, 6 hook ups with Tarpon, nice fat 5 lb mangrove snapper, and a 6 lb catfish. There is no fishing tackle in Cuba -- bring your own.

I went to Cuba last year and fished the Rio Hatiquanico for Tarpon and caught 1 and jumped 7. I thought that was a thrill so I had to return. This year I could not get the same guide and had Alfredo assigned to me. Boy was I in for a great fishing trip. Alfredo was a great guy. Friendly and knowledgeable about fishing with a keen desire to catch as many as possible and always checking to make sure I was enjoying my day. I must of had 30 bites, jumped 20 of them and landed about 15. I caug
